Wings’ Top 20 under 40 program recognizes the achievements of the newest generation of aviation and aerospace professionals who are driving the aviation and aerospace industries forward. From pilots to maintenance engineers, supervisors, flight operation managers and more, these talented professionals represent the best and brightest in the industry.
“I’m humbled by this recognition, but share it with so many”, said McGonigal. “Throughout my career, I’ve benefited from countless mentors within the industry and beyond, most notably Terry, my husband and fellow aviator, and my father, who recently retired from a 40-year international aviation career. Both have always been my most passionate champions.
“The Wings Magazine Top 20 under 40 award brings special attention to current young champions of the Canadian aviation industry, and Transwest Air is exceptionally proud to have Heather named to this list,” said Transwest Air’s Chief Operations Officer, Garrett Lawless. “Not only has she been integral to the major transformations that we have undertaken since 2006, but as we look forward to our next chapter, we are counting on Heather’s continued support and guidance to help us achieve even greater levels of excellence in aviation”.
McGonigal’s aviation career has spanned 20-years, with postings in both Alberta and Saskatchewan, where she has been certified on everything from a Cessna 152 to Saab. McGonigal is Director of Flight Operations for Transwest Air and First-Vice Chair of the Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC).
